Chinese Halibut Broil

A little soy sauce is all it takes to turn a simple broiled fish dish into something with an exotic, Asian flavor. This broiled dish is great served with a stir-fried vegetable medley and white rice.

Ingredients

  • 1-1 1/2 pounds halibut fillets skinless
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat the broiler, and lightly butter a shallow 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Cut the fish into equal portion sizes.
  • In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, lemon juice, onion flakes and water.
  • Rub mixture into both sides of the fish.
  • Place the fish in the prepared baking pan.
  • Sprinkle with the paprika.
  • Broil 2-inches from the heat for 6 minutes, or until the fish is fully cooked; turning once.
  • Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.
